Kumkum Bhagya is an Indian Hindi-language television daily soap drama which telecast on Zee TV on weeknights that is every Monday to Saturday 9 pm IST. The show was earlier premiered on 15th April 2014. Kumkum Bhagya romantic drama series is loosely based or adapted from the popular novel ‘Sense and Sensibility penned by Jane Austen. The show features popular and well-known television star cast like Sriti Jha, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Arjit Taneja, Vir Rana and Mrunal Thakur as most prominent roles. The show is created as well as produced by Ekta Kapoor under her home production banner Balaji Telefilms. Ekta Kapoor as her tradition with putting first letter of her serials with ‘K’ continues with this serial and turn to be one of the most TRP-fetcher show. Sriti Jha as female lead who is popular for serials like Saubhagyavati Bhava, Jiya Jale, Balika Vadhu and Rakhta Sambandh and Shabbir Ahluwalia playing main lead who is a popular Bollywood and TV actor famed for movies like Shootout at Lokhandwala and Mission Istanbul; and serials like Kahiin to Hoga, Kasamh se, Kayamath, Kasautii Zindagi ki and his debut Hip Hip Hurray. The show narrates the tale of a popular musician/Rockstar who get married to a middle-class simple girl. The story proceeds with all Abhi’s female matriarchal family conspiracies and hatred to Pragya along with various relationship dynamics changes in-between Abhi and Pragya. The series turn into a big popular hit on Indian television where its spin-off series with similar title ‘ Kundali Bhagya’ is started airing on 9 pm on Zee TV parallel to its primary serial. The show is directed by Sameer Kulkarni and Sharad Pandey with 910 episodes so far as by 17 August,2017, soon expected to complete milestone of 1,000 episodes.
